A total of 68 doctors and nurses working at a Spanish hospital have tested positive for COVID-19 since attending a big Christmas party last week, officials said on Monday.

The infected doctors work in the intensive care unit of the Regional University Hospital of Malaga. They were all present at the celebration of December 1 which brought together 173 participants, according to the Andalusian regional government.

The source of the outbreak was still under investigation, and authorities said a large meal for hospital staff could also be to blame.

The cases are all considered mild.

All staff who tested positive had received their third booster shots or antigen testing before the party.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has warned people to stay vigilant against the coronavirus this Christmas.

“We must not let our guard down,” he told reporters in Madrid.
