6 injured in shooting at rally in Elgin

ELGIN, Ill. (SCS) – Six people were shot dead during a rally in Elgin early Sunday morning.

Police say at around 1:59 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Congdon Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers arrived at the scene and found five injured people who were then transported to area hospitals under unknown conditions.

Officers were later notified of a sixth injured subject who had self-transported to a local hospital also in an unknown condition.

Preliminary information indicates the incident happened at a rally and appears to be an isolated incident, according to police.
