6 handguns, 2 “assault weapons”, 2 machine guns, shotgun, grenade used in HBO’s “True Detective”; Produced by, with Matthew McConaughey

Now loudly calling for gun control from Joe Biden’s White House briefing room, Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey has made a small fortune producing and acting on TV and in films using firearms. Indeed, he starred in and produced the first season of the acclaimed HBO detective series real detective, which featured 11 guns and a hand grenade in one season.

IMFDB.org notes that 6 of the firearms were handguns, consisting of two revolvers and four semi-automatic pistols.

The revolvers were a Smith & Wesson 627 Snub Nose and a Smith & Wesson 629 Snub Nose.

The semi-automatic pistols were a Glock 17, M1911A1, Sig Sauer P226 and a Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark I.

Of the remaining weapons, two were of the type Democrats call “assault weapons.” These two were an AKM and an AKMS, variants of both also being manufactured and used in other countries as fully automatic.

A Winchester Model 1912 sawed-off shotgun also made an appearance in the first season, as did the M67 hand grenade.
