4 cops injured after 2 police cruisers collide in Brooklyn

Four police officers were injured after two police vehicles collided with each other rushing to the same job in Brooklyn on Thursday night, authorities and law enforcement sources said.

The crash involved a marked and unmarked vehicle at the intersection of East 24th Street and Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay around 9:40 p.m., police said.

Officers were responding to reports of shots being fired along Nostrand Avenue, the NYPD said.

After the two vehicles collided, one of them slammed into the fence of a house, police said.

Officers were seen being transported to ambulances on stretchers on the way to hospital. The injuries were minor, police and sources said.

The front bumper of the NYPD-marked police car was mangled and the unmarked car sustained extensive damage to the driver’s side.

Although one officer was taken out on a stretcher, the injuries were minor, police and sources said.
