Chicago police are investigating after three pedestrians were killed in a hit-and-run accident in the far south of the city early Sunday morning.
Authorities say four men were walking in the 7000 block of South Jeffery in the Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood around 5 a.m. when they were struck by a southbound vehicle at that location.
Three of the men were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead, police said. A fourth victim was transported to another hospital, where his condition is unknown at this time.
The vehicle fled the scene after the accident and no suspicious information has been generated at this time.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident, and we will learn more about this story as it develops.
