Illinois State Police say four people were injured in a back-traffic crash on the Eisenhower Freeway in Forest Park early Saturday morning.
Authorities say a maroon Toyota sedan was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes around 3:03 a.m. Saturday when it slammed into a silver Infiniti.
Police said three people were taken to area hospitals following the accident, one of whom suffered “life-threatening injuries”. The other two people suffered “serious injuries”, but the police did not give details of the conditions of these people.
A fourth person refused to receive medical treatment at the scene, police said.
The Eisenhower’s eastbound lanes were closed for about 45 minutes for crash investigation and cleanup, and reopened just before 4 a.m.
No further details of the injured, or any charges or citations, were immediately made available.
