3 dead in DeKalb County wreckage

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Two people died in a single-car accident in Dekalb County on Saturday morning.

Pamela Pike, 51, of Henagar and Julie Lankford, 50, of Ider, were both fatally injured when their car left the road and hit a tree.

Neither Pike nor Lankford were using seat belts at the time of the accident and were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger, Milian Penick, 56, of Henderson, Nevada, was injured and airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened in Dekalb County 141, about four miles north of Ider. Nothing further is available as soldiers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
