Willa, Billie and Fitz were inadvertently left behind by their mother in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Fish and Game staff weren’t expecting to find three bear cubs while cleaning a local homeowner’s property on Monday.

In a Facebook post, New Hampshire State Police said their fish and game division was clearing up a “big pile of brush” when they accidentally destroyed a bear den in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire.

Three cubs have been left behind after their mother escaped from the collapsing house. However, fish and game staff were able to bring the cubs safely to Kilham Bear Center, a decision made by the department’s biologist.

In another State Police Facebook post, the Kilham Bear Center said it was happy to say the cubs were “eating well”.

The cubs will be raised at the facility until they are old enough to be released into their natural habitat.
