More than 100 people gathered in Baton Rouge on Wednesday evening to celebrate the life of an 18-month-old Ja’tyri (JT) Brown who was shot and killed at a Memorial Day pool party.
Authorities are looking for several suspects linked to the shooting, with two teenage brothers believed to be responsible for the murder which also claimed the life of Dwayne Dunn, Jr., 17, and Reginald thomass, 20, PEOPLE reports. The two men were shot dead by the two suspects following a brawl at the party. Brown was hit by a stray bullet and died in her father’s arms. She would have been 2 years old in August.
Brown’s family and community supporters gathered outside the Fairway View Apartments on College Drive where she lost her life and paid tribute to the toddler with a balloon release on June 9. WBRZ reports.

The family made it clear that they had no connection with the suspects or other victims. They are relieved that police have arrested three people linked to the killings while three others are believed to be still at large.

Baton Rouge police arrested a 15-year-old suspect, two adults and Latoya coleman, the mother of the suspected gunmen, according to the report.

Police allege Stovall and Edwards knew the shooting was going to unfold ahead of time and helped Williams and his brother escape after the murders.
Pool party surveillance footage shows gunmen fleeing the apartment complex after the shooting. Anonymous information about Crime Stoppers allegedly led investigators to Williams and Edwards.
