Twenty-two people were shot dead, including five fatally, from Friday to Sunday morning in Chicago of Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D).

ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reports that a woman was shot in the head and fatally injured on Friday around 8:20 p.m.

A 44-year-old man was gunned down minutes later during an argument on his porch. The man received numerous bullets and was pronounced dead in hospital.

A 54-year-old woman was shot and killed Saturday afternoon as she exited her vehicle “in the 6500 block of South Claremont Avenue”.

The fourth fatal shootout of the weekend was a man who was shot around 8 p.m. while walking through a gas station “in the 1100 block of West 63rd Street”. Someone walked by and opened fire, fatally injuring him.

A 56-year-old man was shot dead on Sunday morning while sitting in a car with a 41-year-old woman. Someone outside the car opened fire at around 3:20 a.m., killing the man.

HeyJackass.com notes that 3,540 people have been shot and wounded in Chicago this year and 754 others have been shot dead.

Beyond the city to Cook County as a whole, the Sun-Times pointed out that more than 1,000 people were killed in the county on Tuesday.
