PORTLAND, TN (WSMV) – A 2-year-old enjoyed a well-earned popsicle after first responders worked for hours to get it out of an antique wooden barrel it was stuck inside.
Lance and Kelly Strubing tell us that 2-year-old Dorian rode in an antique wooden barrel at her grandparents’ house and sort of got stuck.
The family immediately went to the TriStar Portland ER and they took x-rays to find out where his feet, knees and hips were. The Portland Fire Department then stepped in with the jaws of life, but ended up using tools to cut off part of the bottom of the barrel.
Dorian’s father held the cannon as fire crews pulled it safely from the top of the cannon.
Kelly Strubing said Dorian was super brave and unharmed. He enjoyed a popsicle after being taken out and everyone who helped signed the barrel!
