At least three people were injured after gunshots rang out from a CTA bus in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood on Sunday.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, paramedics were called to the scene near the intersection of West Gladys and South Pulaski around 1:32 p.m.
Firefighters say two people appear to have been shot at the scene. One of the victims was in critical condition after the shooting and was taken to an area hospital.
A second victim of the shooting suffered a scrape and refused to seek treatment at the scene.
A third person was injured when the bus came to a sudden stop after the shooting, suffering a rib injury, firefighters said.
The CTA confirmed there was a disturbance on board a southbound No 53 bus on Sunday afternoon, but could not provide further details at this time.
