MIMS, Florida. – Four people, including three firefighters, were injured Sunday night when a Brevard County fire truck and a pickup truck collided, officials said.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on US 1 at Burkholm Road in Mims.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the fire truck was heading east on Burkholm Road and entered the intersection in an attempt to head south on US 1. Vehicles collided, the FHP.
Brevard County Fire Rescue said a crew was returning from a call when the wreckage of two vehicles occurred.
The van driver and three firefighters were taken to hospital, according to an FHP accident report.
The accident happened outside Angel Chamlee’s house, and she called 911 and rushed to help.
“It was like the loudest boom you’ve ever heard,” Chamlee said.
Chamlee said the crash caused the fire truck to overturn.
“(The van driver) kept saying ‘I was trying to stop. I was trying to stop. Trying to make it not so bad. He had no idea that ‘they were all going to flip at the same time,’ Chamlee said.
The driver of the van and a firefighter, a 39-year-old female Mims, suffered serious injuries, FHP said. Another firefighter, a 25-year-old Mims, was seriously injured, according to the accident report. The third firefighter, a 53-year-old Mims, was slightly injured, according to the gendarmes.
All of the victims were wearing seat belts, according to the accident report.
The FHP said the wreckage is still under investigation.
US 1 was closed in the area, but the causeway was reopened Monday morning.
