2 killed, 1 arrested when truck hits motorcycle in Nashua

Authorities pronounced the motorcycle’s two occupants, a 68-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, dead at the scene.

An allegedly drunk driver crashed a pickup truck into a motorcycle, killing both drivers in Nashua, New Hampshire, Sunday afternoon.

Nashua police arrested George Palazzo Jr., 53, Sunday afternoon after he allegedly crossed the median near the intersection of Daniel Webster Highway and Independence Drive, hitting the motorcycle head-on.

Authorities pronounced the motorcycle’s two occupants, a 68-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, dead at the scene, according to a Nashua police news release.

Police said Palazzo Jr., a Nashua resident, appeared to be impaired by alcohol at the scene, leading to a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class B felony.

Palazzo Jr. was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital before being taken into custody. He was due to be arraigned on Monday.

No other people were involved in the crash, police confirmed via email.
