2 in custody following dangerous high-speed chase in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (KABC) — Two people were arrested Friday evening after leading police on a dangerous high-speed chase in Orange County.

The chase began in the San Pedro-Wilmington area when officers from the LAPD’s Harbor Division began pursuing a reckless driver.

AIR7 HD was above the scene as the chase unfolded and captured the suspect reaching speeds of up to 120 mph on the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in Orange County, weaving dangerously in traffic.

The suspect, who was driving a blue Chevrolet Cruze, was also seen speeding through red lights. Shortly before 9 p.m., the suspect stopped at John Wayne Airport as California Highway Patrol units followed closely behind him.

The suspect eventually stopped in the parking lot where two people were arrested.

Details about the suspects were not immediately released.
