One item on her to-do list: buy your very first lottery ticket.
Imagine her surprise when a scratch card she paid $ 5 for ended up earning her $ 25,000.
It was 4 days after his 18th birthday. At work in a grocery store in the town of Meriden, Stanley decided to give it a try.
She chose a Cash Cow instant scratch game.
“Because I love cows and think it’s cute,” Stanley said.
The high school student was shocked when she realized she had a winning ticket.
“My family is super excited and happy for me, and they still can’t believe it!” she said.
Kansas Lottery spokesperson Jessica Herrera told CNN it was “rare for a player to win the top prize on the very first lottery ticket they’ve ever bought.”
Stanley will attend Fort Hays State University in the fall, where she plans to study elementary education.
“I hope this helps me get my degree debt free,” she told the lottery.
She plans to spend money on college. But, she told CNN, she also wants to do something fun – like taking her friends to a nice dinner.
