17-year-old arrested after driving to Tennessee school, closes school on Friday

FRANKLIN, Tennessee (WKRN) – A teenager was arrested Thursday night after he allegedly drove to a high school in Franklin.

It happened at Centennial High School around 8:40 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed significant damage to one of the entrances. The driver had left the scene before the officers arrived.

Police later spotted the suspicious vehicle driving on I-65. Authorities say the driver refused to stop but was later taken into custody at Page High School on Arno Road about half an hour after the incident.

No one was injured in the accident or the chase. Charges against the 17-year-old suspect have yet to be announced.

The Centennial High School campus will be closed on Friday as crews assess the damage and work to repair the building.
