The best vacuum cleaners we’ve reviewed
1. Roborock S7+ Robot Vacuum and Sonic Mop, $950
First off, let me start by saying, yes, $950 is pretty steep for a robot vacuum, even if you don’t mind the price. But the quality, cleaning precision, multitasking ability and state-of-the-art features are quite unmatched.
I didn’t think robot vacuums were all the rage, if I’m being honest. After all, won’t a cordless stick vacuum do the job? Spoiler alert: they do, as mentioned in the Dyson vacuums review, but with the Roborock S7+ robot vacuum and sonic mop, I can work my 9 to 5, read a few chapters of my book, paint my nails, and even shower . It’s not just life changing, but life-giving.
What’s great about the Roborock S7+ is its ability to recognize and remember your home map. Although I remove any shopping bags or shoes from my hardwood floor before cleaning it, it does a terrific job of avoiding furniture legs and even has the built-in intelligence to recognize textured carpets and switch to a higher speed.
Moreover, the paired application is extremely useful. You can pause a cleaning at any time, and you’ll receive a notification when it’s finished cleaning and returns to its charging station. (Yeah, it’s so disciplined.) The dust bin is simple to remove and it’s easy to clean afterwards; a simple damp cloth on the bottom will do.

2. Dyson V8 Fluffy Cordless Stick Vacuum, $469
With custom cleaning options, the included miniature cleaning tools, and its asthma- and allergy-friendly design, it’s no surprise that the Dyson V8 cordless vacuum was the best I tested. I use it a few times a week because it is so discreet to maneuver.
With this model, I am always impressed by its lightness, but its head is also efficient and durable. It also turns into an ideal handheld vacuum for your car and stairs.
3. Dyson Omni-Glide Cordless Vacuum, $400
At first, I was skeptical of the Dyson Omni-Glide. It looked too small to be effective, although I knew its quality (carried by the Dyson name) would be high. After months of use, this is the one I use most often for my bedroom and small spaces for quick storage.
Its velvety head is too exceptional not to be mentioned. Coupled with its lightweight size, this model glides exceptionally well through turns, living up to its name. Plus, you can store it with the included wall-mounted charging station to keep it upright or position it horizontally under your bed or couch. It’s also lightweight and compact.
4. Dyson V7 Animal Cordless Stick Vacuum, $399
Similar to Dyson’s V8, the V7 Animal has slightly better suction power and is just a bit heavier. Much like the Omni-Glide, it snuggles up nicely in turns, which is impressive given that its head is wider and stronger than its slimmer counterpart.
The V7 Animal was also one of the first models to make cordless vacuums a proven necessity. I’ve got everyone in my family addicted to its power and it really doesn’t disappoint, especially for the $400 price tag which is a one-time fee for a lifetime of cleaning.
5. Dyson Ball Animal 2 upright vacuum, $499, original price: $545
I’ve had the Dyson Ball Animal 2 upright vacuum as the only carpet cleaner in my house for as long as I can remember. Although it’s heavy and cordless – minor drawbacks after testing the brand’s cordless stick models – it does a fierce job of deep cleaning textured carpets.
From shag to berber, this model collects fine dust and debris exceptionally well. If you prefer heavy-duty vacuums, I recommend this, although the cordless models have that convenience factor that you may want to consider.

While cleaning efficiency is a priority, Dreamtech’s cordless vacuum also spruces up your home with a sleek white and gold exterior that’s too chic not to love.
Specifically, this model features a powerful brushless motor, up to an hour of battery life, and a five-layer filtration system to capture even the tiniest dust particles. This is one of our favorites, by far.
