An armed robbery suspect is in custody and another suspect remains at large Thursday after a search involving the Addison and Hinsdale police departments, authorities said.
Hinsdale police said Thursday afternoon that officers were searching for an armed robbery suspect in nearby Addison in the area of Oak Street and Fuller Road.
Meanwhile, Addison police confirmed an “active investigation” was underway in the 1600 block of West Lake Street, advising residents to avoid the area.
Later Thursday afternoon, Addison police confirmed officers responded to a robbery that occurred on Lake Street and said the vehicle belonging to one of the suspects was located near the area of Ogden Avenue and the I-294.
Authorities said officers searched a Hinsdale neighborhood and located the suspect and took him into custody.
An update from Hinsdale police said that “despite extensive search efforts,” a suspect had escaped the containment zone set up by officers and was still at large.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation. There is currently no further information available.
Correction: A previous version of this story stated that both suspects were in custody. This has been corrected to reflect that only one of the suspects is currently in custody.
