1 man dead, another injured after shooting at CTA bus in West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (CBS) – A man is killed and another is injured following a shooting on a CTA bus in West Garfield Park on Sunday afternoon.

Initial reports say two unknown men entered the bus with guns, in the 300 block of South Pulaski at around 1.17pm, walked to the back and fired shots – hitting a 24-year-old man years and another of unknown age.

The attackers got off the bus and fled east, police said.

The first victim suffered gunshot wounds to the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead a short time later.

A second man, 24, was scratched on the head but refused to seek treatment at the scene.

No other information was immediately available.

No one is in custody. Area four detectives are investigating.
