1 dead in brush fire in Sonoma County, according to the sheriff’s office; fire fully contained on 63 acres


SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) – One person has died in a Sonoma County bushfire that began Monday afternoon, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ABC7 News.

Authorities say an adult male died as a result of the fire. No other details were immediately released.

The fire burning on Roblar and Canfield roads west of Petaluma is 100% contained on 63 acres.

Heavy smoke drifted toward Santa Rosa, but Santa Rosa police said there was no threat to residents.
